Disability Screening

Disability Screening involves brief activities designed to identify possible areas of disability. This will suggest areas that should be explored and can also eliminate certain possibilities.  In other words, disability screenings are useful because they are cost effective ways to quickly learn where–and where not–to look for evidence of a disability.

However, screening does not provide highly specific or reliable information.  Screening can save time and point us in the right direction but it can not identify or confirm a diagnosis.  Further steps such as Diagnoistic Evaluation must be applied to verify the presence and the specific nature of a disability.  We can provide Diagnostic Evaluation services and/or refer you for diagnostic services and collaborate with any specialist providers.
