A Diagnostic Evaluation is an in depth study to identify the cause of a disability. While Disability Screening can suggest what might be wrong, a diagnosis offers greater certainty.
The cause of a disability must be established within ”a reasonable degree of medical certainty.” This is achieved by documenting a diagnostic opinion and justifying that opinion with medically acceptable facts and reasoning.
A Diagnostic Evaluation must be FACE-TO-FACE. There is no substitute for this, no matter what anyone may tell you. A diagnosis must be made in-person by a qualified health professional.
We can refer you for Diagnostic Evaluation, and we can work with your diagnostician. But your diagnosis must be made by a practitioner who you can visit for an in-office consultation.
The result of a Diagnostic Evaluation is documented in a written report designed for a military medical board or a Veterans Affairs disability claim. Since direct expert testimony is normally not part of the process, the Diagnostic Report must contain sufficient elements to demonstrate the case for disability benefits.
